Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Rock Church and Fortress of Suomenlinna will appeal to history buffs. Step out of the city life by going to Aurinkolahti Beach and Lehman. Venture out of the city with trips to Pyhtaa Church of Saint Henry (in Pyhtaa) and St. Nicholas Orthodox Church (in Kotka). Pack the 19th (Wed) with family-friendly diversions at Linnanmaki Amusement Park. There's still lots to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Hietaranta Beach, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Uspenskin Cathedral (Uspenskin Katedraali), meet the residents at Korkeasaari Zoo, and get to know the fascinating history of The Esplanadi Park.

Although predominately an industrial town, Imatra boasts a long and impressive history of tourism, largely owing to its fierce rapids, considered to have been Finland's first ever tourist attraction.
Kick off your visit on the 20th (Thu): brush up on your military savvy at Imatra Veteran’s Home Museum, then admire the sheer force of Imatra Waterfall, then tour the pleasant surroundings at Malonsaari, and finally take in the architecture and atmosphere at De tre korsens kyrka. On the 21st (Fri), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: enjoy some diversion at HopLop Lappeenranta, explore the activities along Saimaa Canal, then pause for some serene contemplation at Joutsenon kirkko, and finally kick back and relax at Lammassaari Island.
