Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Step out of Helsinki to go to Espoo and see Nuuksio National Park, which is approximately 48 minutes away. There's much more to do: learn about all things military at Sea Fortress Suomenlinna, get engrossed in the history at Seurasaari Island and Open-Air Museum, don't miss a visit to Senate Square, and admire the striking features of Temppeliaukio Church.

Vaasa

Vaasa is a city on the west coast of Finland. Step out of Vaasa to go to Mustasaari and see Saltkaret, which is approximately 40 minutes away. Spend the 28th (Wed) among the memorable landscape of Kvarken Archipelago World Heritage Site. It doesn't end there: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Mustasaaren kirkko and see the interesting displays at Terranova.

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
