Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Kick off your visit on the 3rd (Thu): admire the masterpieces at Kansallisgalleria, test your problem-solving skills at popular escape rooms, get engrossed in the history at Alvar Aalto's studio, then explore the galleries of Seurasaari Island and Open-Air Museum, and finally get a new perspective on nature at Natural History Museum (Luonnontieteellinen Museo). On your second day here, stroll through Aurinkolahti Beach, then steep yourself in history at Urho Kekkonen Museum Tamminiemi, then contemplate the long history of Mannerheim Museum, and finally take a stroll through Katajanokka.

Kotka is a city and municipality of Finland.Kotka is located on the coast of the Gulf of Finland at the mouth of Kymi River and it is part of the Kymenlaakso region in southern Finland. Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Bunker Museum and Linden Esplanade. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Beach Mansikkalahti and St. John's Church. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Kotka: Marian Kirkko (in Hamina) and Salpa Line Museum (in Miehikkala). Inari is Finland's largest, most sparsely populated municipality, with four official languages, more than any other in the country. Kick off your visit on the 14th (Mon): get great views at Otsamo Fell, examine the collection at Siida, and then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Pielpajarvi Wilderness Church.

Getting from Tampere to Inari by combination of train, flight, and shuttle takes about 5.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of flight, bus, and shuttle; or drive. In January, Inari is slightly colder than Tampere - with highs of 15°F and lows of 1°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 14th (Mon) so you can travel to Levi.
