An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Start off your visit on the 1st (Sat): see Santa Claus Office, then make a trip to Santa Claus Village, then take an exotic tour of a safari tour, and finally stop by LAURI Handicraft Shop & Atelier. Here are some ideas for day two: identify plant and animal life at Wildlife Areas, get some fabulous bargains at Marttiini Store Old Factory, and then get engrossed in the history at Arktikum.

Saariselka

Outdoor pursuits--ranging from cross-country skiing and snowmobiling to reindeer safaris and chasing Northern Lights--draw the largest number of tourists to Saariselka.
On the 3rd (Mon), surround yourself with nature on a nature and wildlife tour, then stop by Hippupuoti Gift Shop, and then see the interesting displays at Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center. Keep things going the next day: pause for some serene contemplation at Saariselka S:t Paulus Chapel, hit the slopes at Saariselka Ski & Sport Resort, and then examine the collection at Gold Prospector Museum.

Finland's largest and most popular ski resort, the fell of Levi provides excellent slopes and lively nightlife in an enchanting setting.
Escape the urban bustle at Elan Ski Shop & Rental and Levi Ski Resort. Get a sense of the local culture at LUVATTUMAA - Levi Ice Gallery and Keimioniemi Fishing Cabins. Change things up with a short trip to Safaris in Akaslompolo (about 1h 5 min away).
