Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Step off the beaten path and head to Turku Castle and Forum Marinum Maritime Centre. Sea Fortress Suomenlinna and Seurasaari Island and Open-Air Museum will appeal to museum buffs. Change things up with a short trip to Aboa Vetus & Ars Nova in Turku (about 1h 50 min away). There's lots more to do: take a stroll through Katajanokka, get engrossed in the history at The National Museum of Finland, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Kamppi Chapel of Silence, and admire the masterpieces at Sinebrychoff Art Museum.

Finland's third largest city, Tampere boasts an array of cultural offerings and a lively music scene.
Get some historical perspective at Vanha Kirkko and Finlayson Church. Step off the beaten path and head to Vapriikin Museokeskus and Mediamuseo Rupriikki. Step out of Tampere to go to Valkeakoski and see Visavuori, which is approximately 36 minutes away. There's still lots to do: see the interesting displays at The Finnish Labour Museum Werstas.

Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 9th (Fri): experience rural life at Napapiirin Porofarmi, examine the collection at Christmas House Santa, then examine the collection at Santa's House of Snowmobiles, and finally don't miss a visit to Santa Claus Village.

Do a combination of train and flight from Tampere to Rovaniemi in 5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or drive. In December, Rovaniemi is a bit cooler than Tampere - with highs of -6°C and lows of -13°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 10th (Sat) early enough to drive to Levi.

Levi

Finland's largest and most popular ski resort, the fell of Levi provides excellent slopes and lively nightlife in an enchanting setting.
Explore hidden gems such as Powerun Adventures and Santa"s Cottage & Pet Farm. When in Levi, make a side trip to see Jemes Sport in Yllasjarvi, approximately Yllasjarvi away. Spend the 11th (Sun) on two wheels at Levi Ski Resort. There's much more to do: join the crowd at Icekarting Levi, make a trip to Giewont Husky Adventures, and soothe aching muscles at KuruYoga Levi.

Traveling by car from Rovaniemi to Levi takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In December, plan for daily highs up to -6°C, and evening lows to -15°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 13th (Tue) to allow enough time to drive to Inari.

Inari

Inari is Finland's largest, most sparsely populated municipality, with four official languages, more than any other in the country. You'll explore and learn at Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center and Gold Prospector Museum. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Saint Tryphon Pechenga Orthodox Church and Pielpajarvi Wilderness Church. When in Inari, make a side trip to see Hippupuoti Gift Shop in Saariselka, approximately Saariselka away. There's still lots to do: get a taste of life in the country at Reindeer Farm Petri Mattus and get great views at Otsamo Fell.
