Helsinki

— 14 nights

Daughter of the Baltic

Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Let the collections at Sea Fortress Suomenlinna and Seurasaari Island and Open-Air Museum capture your imagination. Helsinki Cathedral and Temppeliaukio Church will appeal to history buffs. Get out of town with these interesting Helsinki side-trips: Turku (Bike Rental - by Carfield, Turku Castle, &more), Valvilla Factory Museum (in Hyvinkaa) and Suomen Lasimuseo (The Finnish Glass Museum) (in Riihimaki). Pack the 6th (Tue) with family-friendly diversions at Linnanmaki Amusement Park. There's lots more to do: take in the spiritual surroundings of Uspenskin Cathedral (Uspenskin Katedraali), steep yourself in history at Ainola - The Home of Aino and Jean Sibelius, admire the masterpieces at Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma, and make a trip to Senate Square.
