Official Hometown of Santa Claus

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Rovaniemi is known for museums, nightlife, and wildlife. Your trip includes some of its best attractions: make a trip to Santa Claus Village, stop by LAURI Handicraft Shop & Atelier, find something for the whole family at SantaPark - the Home Cavern of Santa Claus, and Head underground at Syvasenvaara Fell.

Kick off your visit on the 7th (Mon): surround yourself with nature on Arctic Husky Farm and then discover the riches below the earth's surface at Amethyst Mine Lapland. Getting from Rovaniemi to Luosto by car takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: take a bus. In February, daytime highs in Luosto are -5°C, while nighttime lows are -13°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 8th (Tue) early enough to go by car to Levi.

Levi

Finland's largest and most popular ski resort, the fell of Levi provides excellent slopes and lively nightlife in an enchanting setting.
Explore Levi's surroundings by going to Seven Fells Up (in Akaslompolo) and Lapland Hotels SnowVillage (in Kittila). Spend the 9th (Wed) on two wheels at Levi Ski Resort. There's still lots to do: bet on your favorite at Icekarting Levi, hit the slopes at Yllas Ski Resort, head outdoors with Outdoor Activities, and stop by Elan Ski Shop & Rental.

Saariselka

Outdoor pursuits--ranging from cross-country skiing and snowmobiling to reindeer safaris and chasing Northern Lights--draw the largest number of tourists to Saariselka.
Get out of town with these interesting Saariselka side-trips: Inari (Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center & Juutua Nature Trail). Spend the 13th (Sun) exploring nature at Urho Kekkonen National Park. And it doesn't end there: surround yourself with nature on a nature and wildlife tour, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Saariselka S:t Paulus Chapel, stroll through Saariselka Ski & Sport Resort, and hike along Ruijanpolku Trail.
