Official Hometown of Santa Claus

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Kids will enjoy Santa Claus Village and Santa Claus Office. Step out of Rovaniemi to go to Luosto and see Amethyst Mine Lapland, which is approximately 1h 35 min away. There's much more to do: take an exotic tour of a safari tour, get engrossed in the history at Arktikum, pause for some serene contemplation at Rovaniemi Church, and see the interesting displays at Santa's House of Snowmobiles.

Inari is Finland's largest, most sparsely populated municipality, with four official languages, more than any other in the country. Start off your visit on the 3rd (Sun): get outside with Lake Inari, examine the collection at Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center, and then relax in the rural setting at Inari Reindeer Farm. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 4th (Mon): surround yourself with nature on a nature and wildlife tour and then get great views at Otsamo Fell.
