An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Let the collections at Santa's House of Snowmobiles and Rovaniemi Local History Museum capture your imagination. Get some historical perspective at Church of Sodankyla and Kemi Church. Step out of Rovaniemi to go to Luosto and see Amethyst Mine Lapland, which is approximately 1h 35 min away. Inari is Finland's largest, most sparsely populated municipality, with four official languages, more than any other in the country. Museum-lovers will get to explore Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center and Gold Prospector Museum. Explore hidden gems such as Pielpajarvi Wilderness Church and Otsamo Fell.
