Inari is Finland's largest, most sparsely populated municipality, with four official languages, more than any other in the country. Pielpajarvi Wilderness Church and Saariselka S:t Paulus Chapel will appeal to history buffs. Get outdoors at Urho Kekkonen National Park and Nature & Wildlife Tours. Step out of Inari with an excursion to Angry Birds Activity Park in Saariselka--about 58 minutes away. There's much more to do: see the interesting displays at Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center, trek along Juutua Nature Trail, get outside with Lake Inari, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Saint Tryphon Pechenga Orthodox Church.

Muonio is a municipality of Finland.The town is located in far northern Finland above the Arctic Circle on the country's western border, within the area of the former Lappi province. Kick off your visit on the 14th (Fri): explore the striking landscape of Pallas-Yllastunturi National Park. On your second day here, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Enontekio Church, then glide through natural beauty at Torassieppi Reindeer Farm & Cottages, then contemplate the long history of Keimioniemi Fishing Cabins, and finally take in the awesome beauty at Sarkitunturi.

Rovaniemi

Official Hometown of Santa Claus

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Step out of the city life by going to Ranua Zoo and Syvasenvaara Fell. Get some historical perspective at Rovaniemi Church and Maupertuis Memorial. Change things up with a short trip to Eeron Polku Trail in Pello (about 1h 15 min away). There's still lots to do: get engrossed in the history at Arktikum, see Santa Claus Office, get curious at Pilke Science Centre, and make a trip to Santa Claus Village.
