An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Step out of Rovaniemi to go to Ranua and see Ranua Zoo, which is approximately 1 hour away. There's lots more to do: make a trip to Santa Claus Village, see Santa Claus Office, enjoy some diversion at Angry Birds Park, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Rovaniemi Church.
