Inari is Finland's largest, most sparsely populated municipality, with four official languages, more than any other in the country. Start off your visit on the 2nd (Mon): take in the architecture and atmosphere at Pielpajarvi Wilderness Church, then head outdoors with Lake Inari, and then pause for some serene contemplation at Saint Tryphon Pechenga Orthodox Church. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 3rd (Tue): take some stellar pictures from Otsamo Fell and then see the interesting displays at Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center.

Rovaniemi to Inari is an approximately 4-hour car ride. You can also take a bus; or do a combination of bus and flight. Expect a daytime high around 20°C in July, and nighttime lows around 11°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 4th (Wed) to allow enough time to drive to Saariselka.

Saariselka

Outdoor pursuits--ranging from cross-country skiing and snowmobiling to reindeer safaris and chasing Northern Lights--draw the largest number of tourists to Saariselka.
On the 4th (Wed), get a dose of the wild on a nature and wildlife tour, examine the collection at Gold Prospector Museum, and then fly down the slopes at Urho Kekkonen National Park. On the 5th (Thu), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: get in on the family fun at Angry Birds Activity Park.

You can drive from Inari to Saariselka in an hour. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In July, daily temperatures in Saariselka can reach 20°C, while at night they dip to 11°C. On the 6th (Fri), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can drive to Rovaniemi.

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
