Although predominately an industrial town, Imatra boasts a long and impressive history of tourism, largely owing to its fierce rapids, considered to have been Finland's first ever tourist attraction.
Start off your visit on the 19th (Tue): learn about all things military at Imatra Veteran’s Home Museum, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Lauritsala Church, take in the views from Puumalansalmen silta ja nakoalahissi, then don't miss a visit to Viewing Platform in Puumala, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Church of St. Nicholas. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: take in the spiritual surroundings of Lappeen Marian kirkko, take an in-depth tour of Wolkoff House Museum, then explore the world behind art at Lappeenrannan taidemuseo, and finally take in the architecture and atmosphere at Nuijamaa Church.

For more things to do, maps, photos, and tourist information, refer to the Imatra trip itinerary tool .

In February, daily temperatures in Imatra can reach -1°C, while at night they dip to -6°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 20th (Wed) so you can travel back home.
