An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Kick off your visit on the 29th (Thu): let the kids burn off some steam at Angry Birds Park, stroll through Ounasvaaran Hiihtokeskus Oy, then get engrossed in the history at Rovaniemi Local History Museum, then examine the collection at Muonion Kotiseutumuseo, and finally explore the different monuments and memorials at German Soldier s Cemetery. On the next day, see the interesting displays at Santa's House of Snowmobiles, then Head underground at Syvasenvaara Fell, and then cast your line with a fishing tour.
