Finland's third largest city, Tampere boasts an array of cultural offerings and a lively music scene.
On the 15th (Sat), tour the pleasant surroundings at Riihiniemen Uimaranta, then enjoy the sand and surf at Rauhaniemi Beach, and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Tampereen Tuomiokirkko. Here are some ideas for day two: stroll around Pyynikki Park and Observation Tower, then identify plant and animal life at Hatanpaa Arboretum, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of St. Alexander Nevsky and St. Nicholas, and finally relax and rejuvenate at some of the best spas.

Though technically its own city, Vantaa is considered by many to be a Helsinki suburb, and it is where most visitors land when they fly to Finland.
Popular historic sites such as Stromforsin ruukki and Church of Hollola are in your itinerary. Escape the urban bustle at Nuuksio National Park and Messila Maailma Oy Ski Center. Venture out of the city with trips to St Michael Church (in Pernaja), Kuhakoski Waterfall (in Nurmijarvi) and Porvoo (Castle Hill, Cathedral of Porvoo, & more). On the 1st (Sun), spend an exhilarating day on the slopes at Mielakka Ski Center. There's lots more to do: identify plant and animal life at Sipoonkorven Kansallispuisto, wander the streets of Linden Esplanade, enjoy some friendly competition at Flamingo Entertainment Center, and examine the collection at World Heritage Site - Verla Groundwood and Board Mill.

Helsinki is very close to Vantaa. In March in Helsinki, expect temperatures between 3°C during the day and -5°C at night. On the 5th (Thu), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can take a train back home.
