Kotka is a city and municipality of Finland.Kotka is located on the coast of the Gulf of Finland at the mouth of Kymi River and it is part of the Kymenlaakso region in southern Finland. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Bunker Museum and Beach Mansikkalahti. Salpa Line Museum and Saint Peter and Saint Paul Cathedral are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Go for a jaunt from Kotka to Hamina to see Marian Kirkko about 30 minutes away. There's still lots to do: get engrossed in the history at Langinkoski Imperial Fishing Lodge Museum, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Pyhtaa Church of Saint Henry, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at St. John's Church, and take a stroll through Linden Esplanade.
