Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Head to Old Market Hall and Marimekko Oyjfor plenty of shopping. Sea Fortress Suomenlinna and Helsinki Cathedral will appeal to history buffs. Pack the 26th (Tue) with family-friendly diversions at Linnanmaki Amusement Park. There's lots more to do: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Temppeliaukio Church, get engrossed in the history at Seurasaari Island and Open-Air Museum, enjoy the sand and surf at Aurinkolahti Beach, and wander the streets of Ullanlinna.
