Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Get some cultural insight at Fortress of Suomenlinna and Uspenskin Cathedral (Uspenskin Katedraali). Visit Aurinkolahti Beach and Hietaranta Beach for some beach relaxation. Pack the 28th (Fri) with family-friendly diversions at Linnanmaki Amusement Park. Sitting at the mouth of the Aura River, Turku is one of Finland's quaintest and most historically rich towns.
Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Turku Castle and Aboa Vetus & Ars Nova. Go for a jaunt from Turku to Poytya to see Kurjenrahka National Park about 54 minutes away. There's lots more to do: kick back and relax at Ispoinen Beach and Sauna, browse the different shops at Kauppakeskus Mylly, get lost in a book at Turku City Library, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Turku Cathedral.

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Kick off your visit on the 12th (Sat): see exotic creatures in open habitats at a safari tour, then see Santa Claus Office, then have fun at Snowman World Igloo Hotel, and finally find something for the whole family at Santa Claus Village. Keep things going the next day: get in on the family fun at SantaPark, then get engrossed in the history at Arktikum, and then make a trip to Lordi's Square.
