Official Hometown of Santa Claus

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Rovaniemi: Ranua Zoo (in Ranua) and Korouoma Canyon (in Posio). There's still lots to do: don't miss a visit to Santa Claus Village, take an in-depth tour of Arktikum, take in the dramatic scenery at Auttikongas, and get curious at Science Centre Pilke.
