Although predominately an industrial town, Imatra boasts a long and impressive history of tourism, largely owing to its fierce rapids, considered to have been Finland's first ever tourist attraction.
On the 7th (Sat), pause for some serene contemplation at Lauritsala Church, then explore the activities along Saimaa Canal, then pause for some serene contemplation at Joutsenon kirkko, and finally head off the coast to Lammassaari Island. On the 8th (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take in the dramatic scenery at Imatra Waterfall, get outside with Atreenalin Seikkailupuistot, and then make a trip to Ruokolahden Kirkko.
