Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Head to Old Market Hall and Hakaniemi Marketfor plenty of shopping. Visiting Nuuksio National Park and Aurinkolahti Beach will get you outdoors. The adventure continues: explore the galleries of Sea Fortress Suomenlinna, take in the spiritual surroundings of Uspenskin Cathedral (Uspenskin Katedraali), make a trip to Senate Square, and get engrossed in the history at Seurasaari Island and Open-Air Museum.

Los Angeles, USA to Helsinki is an approximately 15-hour flight. The time zone difference moving from Pacific Standard Time (PST) to Eastern European Standard Time (EET) is 10 hours. Traveling from Los Angeles in June, things will get slightly colder in Helsinki: highs are around 65°F and lows about 50°F. Sitting at the mouth of the Aura River, Turku is one of Finland's quaintest and most historically rich towns.
Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Ispoinen Beach and Sauna and Vepsa Island. Take a break from the city and head to Kurjenrahka National Park and The Archipelago Trail. Step out of Turku with an excursion to Ruukin kehräämö ja puoti Oy in Pernio--about 1h 20 min away. Although many Koli National Park tours revolve around the majestic natural landscape, there are still plenty of things to see and do for those pursuing culture and heritage.
Take a break from the city and head to Ukko-Koli Hill and Kolinuuron kierros Nature Trail. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Koli National Park: Venajanhiekka (in Rautavaara) and Hiidenportti National Park (in Sotkamo). There's lots more to do: look for all kinds of wild species at Patvinsuon Kansallispuisto, tour the pleasant surroundings at Kasken Kierros Nature Trail, and contemplate the waterfront views at Pielinen.
