Jyvaskyla

— 2 nights
Jyväskylä is a city and municipality in Finland and in the western part of the Finnish Lakeland. Venture out of the city with trips to Himos Ski Resort (in Jamsa) and Petajavesi Old Church (in Petajavesi). There's much more to do: see the interesting displays at The Alvar Aalto Museum, learn more about the world around you at Natural History Museum of Central Finland, learn about all things military at Finnish Air Force Museum, and take an in-depth tour of Keski-Suomen museo (Museum of Central Finland).

To see other places to visit, traveler tips, reviews, and more tourist information, read Jyvaskyla trip planner.

Turku to Jyvaskyla is an approximately 4-hour car ride. You can also take a train; or take a bus. Traveling from Turku in January, expect Jyvaskyla to be slightly colder, temps between -7°C and -14°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 16th (Sun) early enough to go by car back home.
