Inari is Finland's largest, most sparsely populated municipality, with four official languages, more than any other in the country. You've now added Aurora Service Tours to your itinerary. Start off your visit on the 16th (Fri): join in the after-dark buzz at Aurora Service Tours, then examine the collection at Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center, and then pause for some serene contemplation at Pielpajarvi Wilderness Church.

Helsinki to Inari is an approximately 4.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train and bus. Expect a bit cooler temperatures when traveling from Helsinki in February; daily highs in Inari reach -6°C and lows reach -15°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 17th (Sat) early enough to go by car to Rovaniemi.

Official Hometown of Santa Claus

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Kick off your visit on the 17th (Sat): identify plant and animal life at Wildlife Areas and then take an in-depth tour of Arktikum. Here are some ideas for day two: get in on the family fun at SantaPark - the Home Cavern of Santa Claus, see Santa Claus Office, and then don't miss a visit to Santa Claus Village.

You can drive from Inari to Rovaniemi in 4 hours. Other options are to take a bus; or do a combination of flight and bus. Expect a daytime high around -6°C in February, and nighttime lows around -11°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 18th (Sun) to allow enough time to travel back home.
