Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Pack the 21st (Sun) with family-friendly diversions at Linnanmaki. There's much more to do: take in the spiritual surroundings of Temppeliaukion Church, learn more about the world around you at Finnish Museum of Natural History, admire the masterpieces at Kansallisgalleria, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Helsinki Cathedral.

Venture out of the city with trips to Lahti (Sibeliustalo & Musical Fountain), Holy Cross Church (in Parola) and Juselius Mausoleum (in Pori). see Sarkanniemi Theme Park. Sitting at the mouth of the Aura River, Turku is one of Finland's quaintest and most historically rich towns.
Explore Turku's surroundings by going to Rauma (Old Rauma, Church of the Holy Cross, Rauma, & more), Kurjenrahka National Park (in Poytya) and ArtBank (in Parainen). There's still lots to do: step into the grandiose world of Turku Castle, kick back and relax at Ispoinen Beach and Sauna, pause for some serene contemplation at Archangel Michael's church, and trek along The Archipelago Trail.

Venture out of the city with trips to Pallas-Yllastunturi National Park (in Muonio) and Snow Village (in Kittila). On the 9th (Fri), ski the day away in the pristine settings at Levi Ski Resort.
