Kotka is a city and municipality of Finland.Kotka is located on the coast of the Gulf of Finland at the mouth of Kymi River and it is part of the Kymenlaakso region in southern Finland. Linden Esplanade and Hamina Old Town are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Get outdoors at Arboretum Mustila and Riverside Park. Explore Kotka's surroundings by going to Hiidenvuori (in Iitti), Stromforsin ruukki (in Ruotsinpyhtaa) and Niivermaki Nature Conservation Area (in Kouvola). The adventure continues: tour the pleasant surroundings at Beach Mansikkalahti, trek along Santalahti Nature Trail, and admire the striking features of Varissaari - Fort Elisabeth.

Get some cultural insight at Arktikum and Santa's House of Snowmobiles. Escape the urban bustle at Safaris and Syvasenvaara Fell. Step out of Rovaniemi with an excursion to Pyha-Luosto National Park in Pyhatunturi--about 1h 30 min away. When traveling from Koli National Park in May, plan for little chillier days and about the same nights in Rovaniemi: temperatures range from 12°C by day to 3°C at night.
