Inari

Inari is Finland's largest, most sparsely populated municipality, with four official languages, more than any other in the country. Step off the beaten path and head to Pielpajarvi Wilderness Church and Gold Prospector Museum. Do some cultural sightseeing at Saint Tryphon Pechenga Orthodox Church and Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center. Get out of town with these interesting Inari side-trips: Saariselka (Saariselka Ski & Sport Resort & Hippupuoti Gift Shop). Spend the 12th (Wed) exploring nature at Lemmenjoki National Park. An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Museum-lovers will get to explore Santa's House of Snowmobiles and The Provincial Museum Of Tornio Valley. German Soldier s Cemetery and Kemi Church will appeal to history buffs. When in Rovaniemi, make a side trip to see Tatuka Reindeerfarm in Ylitornio, approximately Ylitornio away. There's much more to do: identify plant and animal life at Feelapland, see where the action happens at Lappi Areena, stop by LAURI Handicraft Shop & Atelier, and pause for some serene contemplation at Rovaniemi Church.
