Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Venture out of the city with trips to Nuuksio National Park (in Espoo) and Turku (Turku Art Museum, Bike Rental - by Carfield, &more). And it doesn't end there: learn about all things military at Sea Fortress Suomenlinna, admire the landmark architecture of Helsinki Central Railway Station, take in the spiritual surroundings of Uspenskin Cathedral (Uspenskin Katedraali), and pause for some serene contemplation at Helsinki Cathedral.

Inari

Inari is Finland's largest, most sparsely populated municipality, with four official languages, more than any other in the country. Step out of Inari to go to Saariselka and see Urho Kekkonen National Park, which is approximately 1h 45 min away. There's still lots to do: pause for some serene contemplation at Pielpajarvi Wilderness Church, get a dose of the wild on a nature and wildlife tour, get great views at Otsamo Fell, and get your bearings at The Sami Cultural Centre Sajos.

You can fly from Helsinki to Inari in 3 hours. Other options are to drive; or do a combination of train and bus. Traveling from Helsinki in October, expect Inari to be a bit cooler, temps between 3°C and -2°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 29th (Sat) early enough to drive to Levi.

Levi

Finland's largest and most popular ski resort, the fell of Levi provides excellent slopes and lively nightlife in an enchanting setting.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Levi: Muonio (Sarkitunturi & Keimiotunturi Fell). Spend the 30th (Sun) on two wheels at Levi Ski Resort. There's still lots to do: relax and rejuvenate at KuruYoga Levi and don't miss a visit to Giewont Husky Adventures.

You can drive from Inari to Levi in 4 hours. Other options are to take a bus; or take a bus. October in Levi sees daily highs of 3°C and lows of -3°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 1st (Tue) early enough to travel to Pyhatunturi.

Pyhatunturi

Getting from Levi to Pyhatunturi by car takes about 2.5 hours. In November in Pyhatunturi, expect temperatures between -3°C during the day and -9°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 3rd (Thu) so you can drive to Rovaniemi.

Official Hometown of Santa Claus

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Step out of Rovaniemi to go to Posio and see Korouoma Canyon, which is approximately 1h 40 min away. There's much more to do: make a trip to Santa Claus Village, find something for the whole family at SantaPark - the Home Cavern of Santa Claus, identify plant and animal life at Wildlife Areas, and engage your brain at Science Centre Pilke.
