Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.Get out of town with these interesting Helsinki side-trips: Kotka (Linden Esplanade, Beach Mansikkalahti, &more), Stromforsin Ruukki (in Ruotsinpyhtaa) and Bellevue Beach (in Hanko). Pack the 1st (Mon) with family-friendly diversions at Linnanmaki Amusement Park. Spend the 10th (Wed) exploring nature at Sipoonkorven Kansallispuisto. There's still lots to do: step into the grandiose world of Sea Fortress Suomenlinna, take an in-depth tour of Seurasaari Island and Open-Air Museum, make a trip to Market Square Kauppatori, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Temppeliaukio Church.
