Although predominately an industrial town, Imatra boasts a long and impressive history of tourism, largely owing to its fierce rapids, considered to have been Finland's first ever tourist attraction.
Kick off your visit on the 28th (Tue): contemplate the waterfront views at Saimaa Canal, then step off the mainland to explore Lammassaari Island, and then take in the dramatic scenery at Imatra Waterfall. On the next day, take in the dramatic natural features at Kummakivi Boulder, then head off the coast to Malonsaari, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Lempukka Beach.
