Official Hometown of Santa Claus

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
On the 20th (Sun), see Santa Claus Office, find something for the whole family at SantaPark - the Home Cavern of Santa Claus, and then make a trip to Lordi's Square. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 21st (Mon): get to know the resident critters at Ranua Zoo, stop by LAURI Handicraft Shop & Atelier, and then make a trip to Santa Claus Village.

Helsinki to Rovaniemi is an approximately 4.5-hour flight. You can also take a train; or drive. Expect little chillier temperatures when traveling from Helsinki in December; daily highs in Rovaniemi reach -6°C and lows reach -13°C. Start off your visit on the 22nd (Tue): explore the landscape on two wheels at Levi Ski Resort.
