Official Hometown of Santa Claus

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
On the 26th (Fri), make a trip to Lordi's Square, then see exotic creatures in open habitats at a safari tour, and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Ounasvaaran Hiihtokeskus Oy. On the 27th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take an in-depth tour of Arktikum, examine the collection at Christmas House Santa, then see Santa Claus Office, and finally don't miss a visit to Santa Claus Village.

Turku to Rovaniemi is an approximately 4.5-hour flight. You can also take a train; or drive. Traveling from Turku in February, things will get a bit cooler in Rovaniemi: highs are around -6°C and lows about -11°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 27th (Sat) early enough to drive to Levi.

Drive from Rovaniemi to Levi in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In February, plan for daily highs up to -5°C, and evening lows to -12°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 1st (Mon) early enough to travel back home.
