Your inner history buff will appreciate Kotka Church and Industrial park Karhu ja Tahti. Escape the urban bustle at Santalahti Nature Trail and Aijanniemi Beach. When in Kotka, make a side trip to see Marian Kirkko in Hamina, approximately 30 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: walk around Riverside Park, enjoy the sand and surf at Beach Mansikkalahti, appreciate the history behind Kotka Sculpture Promenade, and step off the mainland to explore Haapasaari Island.

Hanko is a bilingual port town and municipality on the south coast of Finland, 130km west of Helsinki. Take a break from the city and head to Paavolan Tammi and Ekenas Archipelago National Park. Popular historic sites such as Raseborg Castle and Fagervik Church are in your itinerary. Venture out of the city with trips to Teijo National Park (in Pernio) and Hagen - Ramsholmen - Hogholmen (in Raseborg).
