Inari

Inari is Finland's largest, most sparsely populated municipality, with four official languages, more than any other in the country. Get out of town with these interesting Inari side-trips: Gold Prospector Museum (in Tankavaara) and Saariselka (Urho Kekkonen National Park & Hippupuoti Gift Shop). There's lots more to do: get a dose of the wild on a nature and wildlife tour, tour the pleasant surroundings at Juutua Nature Trail, pause for some serene contemplation at Saariselka S:t Paulus Chapel, and get great views at Otsamo Fell.

Getting from Tampere to Inari by combination of train and flight takes about 5.5 hours. Other options: drive; or do a combination of train and bus. In January, Inari is slightly colder than Tampere - with highs of -11°C and lows of -20°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 11th (Tue) so you can go by car to Levi.

Levi

Finland's largest and most popular ski resort, the fell of Levi provides excellent slopes and lively nightlife in an enchanting setting.
Get out of town with these interesting Levi side-trips: Pallas-Yllastunturi National Park (in Muonio) and Lapland Hotels SnowVillage (in Kittila). Spend the 12th (Wed) on two wheels at Levi Ski Resort. Pello is a municipality of Finland.It is located approximately north of the Arctic Circle in the western part of the province of Lapland, and is part of the Lapland region. On the 17th (Mon), fly down the slopes at Ski Resort Ritavalkea. An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Step out of Rovaniemi to go to Pyhatunturi and see Pyha-Luosto National Park, which is approximately 1h 35 min away.
