Jyväskylä is a city and municipality in Finland and in the western part of the Finnish Lakeland. Venture out of the city with trips to Leivonmaki National Park (in Joutsa), Himos Ski Resort (in Jamsa) and Pyha-Hakki National Park (in Saarijarvi). There's lots more to do: get engrossed in the history at Toivolan Vanha Piha, trek along Nyrolan luontopolku, snap pictures at Karkisten Silta, and brush up on your military savvy at Finnish Air Force Museum.

To find traveler tips, reviews, ratings, and other tourist information, read our Jyvaskyla trip itinerary planning site.

Riga, Latvia to Jyvaskyla is an approximately 8-hour combination of flight and car. You can also drive. Expect slightly colder evenings in Jyvaskyla when traveling from Riga in June, with lows around 8°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 25th (Thu) to allow enough time to travel back home.
