Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Kick off your visit on the 11th (Thu): contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Uspenskin Cathedral (Uspenskin Katedraali), then don't miss a visit to Senate Square, then expand your understanding of the military at Sea Fortress Suomenlinna, and finally take a stroll through Katajanokka. An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Step out of the city life by going to Safaris and Napapiirin Porofarmi. There's still lots to do: don't miss a visit to Santa Claus Village, have fun at Santa Claus Office, look for all kinds of wild species at Arctic Emotions Oy, and get engrossed in the history at Arktikum.

Traveling by flight from Helsinki to Rovaniemi takes 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or drive.
