Helsinki

— 3 nights

Daughter of the Baltic

Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Temppeliaukio Church and Uspenskin Cathedral (Uspenskin Katedraali). When in Helsinki, make a side trip to see Nuuksio National Park in Espoo, approximately Espoo away. There's still lots to do: hunt for treasures at Market Square Kauppatori, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Kamppi Chapel of Silence, pause for some serene contemplation at Helsinki Cathedral, and learn about all things military at Sea Fortress Suomenlinna.

To find maps, photos, more things to do, and tourist information, use the Helsinki trip planning app.

Roja, Latvia to Helsinki is an approximately 6.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of car and flight; or drive. Expect slightly colder evenings in Helsinki when traveling from Roja in August, with lows around 13°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 2nd (Thu) early enough to go by car to Turku.
