Inari

Inari is Finland's largest, most sparsely populated municipality, with four official languages, more than any other in the country. Start off your visit on the 7th (Fri): see the interesting displays at Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center.

Helsinki to Inari is an approximately 4.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train and bus. Traveling from Helsinki in August, things will get a bit cooler in Inari: highs are around 19°C and lows about 9°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 7th (Fri) early enough to travel to Levi.

Kick off your visit on the 8th (Sat): browse the exhibits of LUVATTUMAA - Levi Ice Gallery and then explore the landscape on two wheels at Levi Ski Resort.

You can fly from Inari to Levi in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In August, plan for daily highs up to 19°C, and evening lows to 9°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 8th (Sat) to allow time to drive to Rovaniemi.

Official Hometown of Santa Claus

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Step out of Rovaniemi to go to Ranua and see Ranua Zoo, which is approximately 1 hour away. And it doesn't end there: get engrossed in the history at Arktikum, make a trip to Santa Claus Village, enjoy some diversion at Santa Claus Office, and get in on the family fun at Moomin Snowcastle.

Traveling by car from Levi to Rovaniemi takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In August in Rovaniemi, expect temperatures between 20°C during the day and 11°C at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 11th (Tue) so you can travel back home.
