Official Hometown of Santa Claus

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Kick off your visit on the 25th (Thu): identify plant and animal life at Wildlife Areas and then make a trip to Lordi's Square. On the 26th (Fri), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take an in-depth tour of Arktikum, then see the interesting displays at Christmas House Santa, then see Santa Claus Office, and finally make a trip to Santa Claus Village.

Joensuu to Rovaniemi is an approximately 6.5-hour flight. You can also drive. Prepare for little chillier weather when traveling from Joensuu in February: high temperatures in Rovaniemi hover around -6°C and lows are around -11°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 26th (Fri) early enough to go by car to Levi.

Finland's largest and most popular ski resort, the fell of Levi provides excellent slopes and lively nightlife in an enchanting setting.
Take a break from Levi with a short trip to Lapland Hotels SnowVillage in Kittila, about 46 minutes away. Spend the 27th (Sat) on two wheels at Levi Ski Resort. The adventure continues: get a dose of the wild on Lapland Safaris Levi, look for gifts at Elan Ski Shop & Rental, join the crowd at Icekarting Levi, and see Off-Road Tours.

Traveling by car from Rovaniemi to Levi takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. February in Levi sees daily highs of -5°C and lows of -12°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 1st (Mon) to allow enough time to travel back home.
