You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Mannerheim Museum and Kansallisgalleria. Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Sea Fortress Suomenlinna and Seurasaari Island and Open-Air Museum. Explore Helsinki's surroundings by going to Nuuksio National Park (in Espoo), Porvoo (Cathedral of Porvoo & Porvoo Old Town) and Heureka (in Vantaa). Next up on the itinerary: contemplate the long history of The Aalto House, pause for some serene contemplation at Helsinki Cathedral, admire the landmark architecture of Temppeliaukio Church, and get engrossed in the history at The National Museum of Finland.

Mariehamn is the capital of Åland, an autonomous territory under Finnish sovereignty. Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Bomarsund and The Maritime Quarter. Oulu

Oulu is a city and municipality of inhabitants in the region of Northern Ostrobothnia, Finland. Raahe Museum and Oulun Taidemuseo will appeal to museum buffs. Step out of the city life by going to Nallikari Beach and Syote Ski & Nature Resort. When in Oulu, make a side trip to see Rokuan Kansallispuisto in Ahmas, approximately Ahmas away. Rovaniemi

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Get some historical perspective at Rovaniemi Church and German Soldier s Cemetery. Step off the beaten path and head to Nature & Wildlife Tours and Kopara Reindeer Park. Change things up with these side-trips from Rovaniemi: Ranua Zoo (in Ranua), Ski Resort Ritavalkea (in Pello) and Pyhatunturi (in Pelkosenniemi).
