Helsinki is known for historic sites, museums, and shopping. Your trip includes some of its best attractions: brush up on your military savvy at Sea Fortress Suomenlinna, admire the striking features of Helsinki Central Railway Station, appreciate the extensive heritage of The Esplanadi Park, and pause for some serene contemplation at Helsinki Cathedral.

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Kick off your visit on the 15th (Wed): have fun at Santa Claus Office, make a trip to Santa Claus Village, and then let the kids burn off some steam at Angry Birds Park. Keep things going the next day: take an in-depth tour of Arktikum and then stop by LAURI Handicraft Shop & Atelier.
