Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Kids will enjoy Sea Fortress Suomenlinna and Helsinki Cathedral. Get outdoors at Nuuksio National Park and Stand-Up Paddleboarding. There's still lots to do: pause for some serene contemplation at Temppeliaukio Church, get engrossed in the history at Seurasaari Island and Open-Air Museum, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Uspenskin Cathedral (Uspenskin Katedraali), and get to know the fascinating history of The Esplanadi Park.

Budapest, Hungary to Helsinki is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also fly; or drive; or do a combination of train, bus, and ferry. You'll lose 1 hour traveling from Budapest to Helsinki due to the time zone difference. Expect little chillier temperatures when traveling from Budapest in August; daily highs in Helsinki reach 24°C and lows reach 13°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 4th (Tue) early enough to travel to Siltakyla.

On the 4th (Tue), pause for some serene contemplation at Church of Ruotsinpyhtaa, then contemplate the long history of Stromforsin Ruukki, and then identify plant and animal life at Arboretum Mustila. Keep things going the next day: explore the activities along Huutjarvi Lake, then take in the awesome beauty at Kokkovuori (Bonfire Mountain), and then head off the coast to Fagerö Kaunissaari.
