An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
When in Rovaniemi, make a side trip to see Ranua Zoo in Ranua, approximately Ranua away. There's lots more to do: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Rovaniemi Church, take an in-depth tour of Arktikum, don't miss a visit to Lordi's Square, and engage your brain at Science Centre Pilke.

Ivalo is a village in the municipality of Inari, Lapland, Finland, located on the Ivalo River 20km south of Lake Inari. Kick off your visit on the 30th (Mon): take in the architecture and atmosphere at Pielpajarvi Wilderness Church and then see the interesting displays at Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center. On the 31st (Tue), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: head outdoors with Lake Inari.
