Outdoor pursuits--ranging from cross-country skiing and snowmobiling to reindeer safaris and chasing Northern Lights--draw the largest number of tourists to Saariselka.
On the 20th (Mon), examine the collection at Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center and then get advice or help at The Sami Cultural Centre Sajos. Keep things going the next day: tour the pleasant surroundings at Urho Kekkonen National Park.

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Start off your visit on the 24th (Fri): get to know the resident critters at Ranua Zoo and then pause for some serene contemplation at Rovaniemi Church. On your second day here, get engrossed in the history at Arktikum, then have fun at Santa Claus Office, and then make a trip to Santa Claus Village.
