Inari

Inari is Finland's largest, most sparsely populated municipality, with four official languages, more than any other in the country. Start off your visit on the 15th (Fri): get a taste of life in the country at Reindeer Farm Petri Mattus, then tour or see a show at The Sami Cultural Centre Sajos, and then pause for some serene contemplation at Pielpajarvi Wilderness Church.

Chiang Mai, Thailand to Inari is an approximately 25-hour combination of flight and car. The time zone changes from Indochina Time to Eastern European Standard Time, which is usually a -5 hour difference. Plan for much colder temperatures traveling from Chiang Mai in February, with highs in Inari at -6°C and lows at -15°C. An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Kick off your visit on the 17th (Sun): hit the slopes at Ounasvaaran Hiihtokeskus Oy, then identify plant and animal life at Wildlife Areas, and then explore the different monuments and memorials at German Soldier s Cemetery.
