Official Hometown of Santa Claus

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Start off your visit on the 28th (Mon): make a trip to Santa Claus Village. On the next day, take an in-depth tour of Arktikum and then take an exotic tour of a safari tour.

Amsterdam, The Netherlands to Rovaniemi is an approximately 8.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and train. The time zone changes from Central European Standard Time (CET) to Eastern European Standard Time (EET), which is usually a 1 hour difference. Traveling from Amsterdam in February, expect nights in Rovaniemi to be slightly colder, around -11°C, while days are colder, around -6°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 1st (Tue) so you can go by car to Saariselka.

Traveling by car from Rovaniemi to Saariselka takes 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In March, daily temperatures in Saariselka can reach -1°C, while at night they dip to -12°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Wed) so you can go by car to Levi.

Levi

Finland's largest and most popular ski resort, the fell of Levi provides excellent slopes and lively nightlife in an enchanting setting.
Change things up with a short trip to Lapland Hotels SnowVillage in Kittila (about 46 minutes away). Spend the 3rd (Thu) on two wheels at Levi Ski Resort. There's still lots to do: take an exotic tour of Lapland Safaris Levi, bet on your favorite at Icekarting Levi, and gear up at Elan Ski Shop & Rental.

Drive from Saariselka to Levi in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. March in Levi sees daily highs of 0°C and lows of -10°C at night. On the 5th (Sat), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel back home.
