Official Hometown of Santa Claus

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Rovaniemi is known for wildlife, museums, and fun & games. Your trip includes some of its best attractions: make a trip to Santa Claus Village, get engrossed in the history at Arktikum, engage your brain at Science Centre Pilke, and see Santa Claus Office.

Helsinki to Rovaniemi is an approximately 3-hour flight. You can also take a train; or drive. Traveling from Helsinki in October, things will get a bit cooler in Rovaniemi: highs are around 3°C and lows about -1°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 19th (Tue) early enough to go by car to Levi.

Finland's largest and most popular ski resort, the fell of Levi provides excellent slopes and lively nightlife in an enchanting setting.
On the 20th (Wed), explore the landscape on two wheels at Levi Ski Resort.

Saariselka

Outdoor pursuits--ranging from cross-country skiing and snowmobiling to reindeer safaris and chasing Northern Lights--draw the largest number of tourists to Saariselka.
Start off your visit on the 21st (Thu): stroll through Urho Kekkonen National Park. Here are some ideas for day two: fly down the slopes at Saariselka Ski & Sport Resort and then examine the collection at Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center.
