Official Hometown of Santa Claus

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Start off your visit on the 14th (Mon): examine the collection at Santa's House of Snowmobiles, see the interesting displays at Christmas House Santa, then fly down the slopes at Ounasvaaran Hiihtokeskus Oy, and finally take in the architecture and atmosphere at Rovaniemi Church.

On the 17th (Thu), examine the collection at Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center, experience rural life at Inari Reindeer Farm, and then wander the wide-open spaces of Reindeer Farm Petri Mattus. On your second day here, pause for some serene contemplation at Pielpajarvi Wilderness Church, then take some stellar pictures from Otsamo Fell, and then relax in the rural setting at Tuula's Reindeer.
