Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Discover out-of-the-way places like Katajanokka and Nuuksio National Park. Do some cultural sightseeing at Natural History Museum (Luonnontieteellinen Museo) and EMMA - Espoo Museum of Modern Art. Finland's third largest city, Tampere boasts an array of cultural offerings and a lively music scene.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Vapriikin Museokeskus and Tampereen Tuomiokirkko. Get some cultural insight at Sara Hilden Art Museum and Stone Castle of Pirunvuori. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Tampere: Pori (Rakennuskulttuuritalo Toivo Ja Korsmanin Talo, Yyteri Beach, &more) and The Ruins of the Church of the Holy Trinity (in Rauma). There's still lots to do: stroll through Hatanpaa Arboretum, admire all the interesting features of Pyynikki Park and Observation Tower, examine the collection at Automobile & Road Museum Mobilia, and kick back and relax at Suolijarvi Beach.
