Nestled among vast forests and fells, Luosto represents a small idyllic resort village set on the edge of Pyha-Luosto National Park.
Start off your visit on the 17th (Mon): take in breathtaking views at Isokuru, then go deep underground at Amethyst Mine Lapland, and then get out on two wheels at Luosto Adventures.

Tallinn, Estonia to Luosto is an approximately 8-hour combination of flight and car. You can also drive. Plan for a bit cooler temperatures traveling from Tallinn in August, with highs in Luosto at 20°C and lows at 9°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 17th (Mon) early enough to drive to Saariselka.

Outdoor pursuits--ranging from cross-country skiing and snowmobiling to reindeer safaris and chasing Northern Lights--draw the largest number of tourists to Saariselka.
Kick off your visit on the 18th (Tue): head outdoors with Lake Inari, then see the interesting displays at Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center, and then trek along Juutua Nature Trail. On the 19th (Wed), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Saariselka S:t Paulus Chapel, then trek along Urho Kekkonen National Park, and then surround yourself with nature on a nature and wildlife tour.

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Step out of Rovaniemi with an excursion to Ranua Zoo in Ranua--about 1 hour away. The adventure continues: get engrossed in the history at Arktikum, take in the dramatic scenery at Auttikongas, don't miss a visit to Lordi's Square, and pause for some serene contemplation at Rovaniemi Church.
