An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Change things up with a short trip to Ranua Zoo in Ranua (about 1 hour away). There's lots more to do: take an in-depth tour of Arktikum, get curious at Science Centre Pilke, make a trip to Santa Claus Village, and pause for some serene contemplation at Rovaniemi Church.
